There has been a change in the programme. The new  topic is related to weather hazards but more focused on the effects of the recent floodings in Europe.  Due to climate change it is likely that these types of events will become more frequent and put the Railways in a difficult position. Learn about UIC’s strategies how to become more resilient.

Resilience against natural hazards: How UIC is tackling resilience in railways thanks to the RERA projects

Francisco CABRERA, Deputy – Head of Operations and Safety, UIC – INTERNATIONAL UNION OF RAILWAYS

The presentation will show the UIC strategy of resilience and how to make railways more resilient against natural hazards such as floods, strong winds or high temperatures.

Furthermore, it will briefly cover strategies in case of earthquakes and cyber-attacks.

All the solutions are focused on providing tools to Rail Operators, who are the main contributors to the UIC Resilient Railways task force.
